One of the things that an author said about him one time, was how he must have felt after being a third couselor and being in charge of just about everything as the rest of the presidency was pretty much too unhealthy. He had moved up to first counselor and then when the new prophet came along, he made him second counselor (the other counselor the prophet wanted was more senior in the Quorum). He read the sustainings and his voice didn't falter or give any hint of pity or sorrow.
Books he wrote include:
Behold the Lamb of God: Selections from the Sermons and Writings, Published and Unpublished, of J. Reuben Clark, Jr. on the Life of the Savior (Clas)
Books he co-wrote include:
Books about him:
J. Reuben Clark, Jr., diplomat and statesman
Young Reuben;: The early life of J. Reuben Clark, Jr
