David Allan Bednar
He was born June 15th, 1952 at San Leandro, California. His parents are Anthony G. and Lavina Whitney Bednar.
He married Susan Kae Robinson and they are the parents of three sons.
He graduated from BYU with a BA degree in Communications and a MA in Organizational Communications. He received a doctorate in Organizational Behavior from Purdue University. He was a professor of business management at Texas Tech University and at the Univeristy of Arkansas. While there he served as Associate Dean for Graduate Studies in their College of Business Administration.
He has served as an Area Authority Seventy, Regional Representative, Stake President and Bishop.
He was sustained to the Quorum of the Twelve in October of 2004 and was ordained an apostle on October 7th of 2004. He was serving as President of BYU-Idaho (1997-2007) at the time.
