James Esdras Faust

He was born July 31, 1920 in Delta, Utah.

His parents are George A. and Amy Finlinson Faust.

He served a mission to Brazil during 1939-1942
He served in the Air Force during World War II.

He graduated from the University of Utah in 1948 with a bachelor of arts and a juris doctorate.

He married Ruth Wright and the are the parents of five children, 25 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

He was a Utah state legislator and president of the Utah Bar Association.

He was sustained to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, September 30th, 1978 and ordained October 1st, 1978 at the age of 58.
A couple of good memories of talks include when Pres. Hinckley tried to teach us to stay out of debt, by saying that Jim Faust would whistle at work, because he didn't owe anything on his mortgage, nor did he have any other debts.

Another one from my teen years is that he would take his wife to the Hotel Utah every month for an overnight meeting with his wife and they would go over their goals and the status of each child's goals.
